Magigoo Original: grip while it prints, release when it cools.
Magigoo Original is a 3D printing adhesive built to solve the first layer not sticking, on general purpose filaments. It holds the print to a hot build plate and helps prevent warping over long jobs.
The release is the other half of the product. Let the plate cool and the print comes off with a finger flick, which is what turns a thirty hour print from a risk into a routine. One bottle lasts over a hundred average prints, washes off with water and has only a faint odour.
Safety.
The applicator has a spring valve that opens when you press the nib against the plate. Do not squeeze the bottle like a ketchup bottle, the applicator can pop off. Squeeze only while the nib is pressed down and only if you need more flow.
Tip.
Spread it on the printing area only. There is no need to cover the whole plate.
- Shake. Shake the bottle.
- Apply. Press the nib on the bed to open the inner valve and spread over the printing area.
- Print. Print to the filament and printer manufacturer recommendations.
- Cool. Let the plate cool. The print should come off on its own.
- Clean. Wipe the residue off with a damp cloth.
