High Temperature FDM 3D Printing for PEI, PEEK and other High Performance Polymers What You Need to Know

Posted by 3D4Makers . on

Desktop 3D printers are mainly consumer or entry-level enterprise machines. They are usually made for prototyping and deskside use. Industrial 3D printers (Additive Manufacturing Machines) are used for manufacturing, usually in industrial settings. In Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM, also called FFF) a new category of high-temperature 3D printers is emerging which is fusing these formerly disparate groups of systems. These are high-temperature 3D Printers which are capable of manufacturing in high-performance engineering plastics such as PEEK and PEI.   What is a high-temperature 3D printer?  This category of machines is very new. There are many more people saying that they have a...

Hemp Filament

Posted by 3D4Makers . on

3D4Makers introduces Hemp Filament: Polylactic Acid (PLA) with 10% Hemp Fibers (from the bark of the cannabis plant) Old meets new; The Hemp fiber one of the oldest and strongest natural fiber. PLA is a recently developed biodegradable plastic derived from renewable organic resources (corn starch or sugarcane). PLA is recyclable but can also be biological decomposed in composting plants. Bringing (compounding) these two materials together creates a strong but biodegradable and compostable new material. The Hemp fiber technique is based on the products of Hemplyne. The 3D4MAKERS PLA Hemp Filament has unique properties because it does not come into...

3D Printing with Hemp

Posted by 3D4Makers . on

Last year we developed our Hemp Filament. Hemp filament is available in 2.85mm and 1.75mm and is a hemp fiber filled PLA. The material has a higher impact resistance than regular PLA. The material is fully biodegradable and compostable. It is also an odorless print. Compared to other materials the Hemp is low warp as well.  Compared to other hemp blends this material is more flexible and less brittle. The material has easy printability and fair dimensional accuracy and surface results.  The hemp fibers themselves are from the bark of the Canabis plant and made by a company called Hemplyne....
